How to Choose the Right Workshop
A simple way to compare workshop formats, outcomes and the kind of practice you need next.

Start with something you want to do
Choose an outcome before choosing a topic. Building a small website, testing a prototype or writing a campaign brief gives you a clearer target than simply learning more about a subject.
Check the level and the format
Read the prerequisites and look for time to practice. A beginner session should explain its tools and starting point. A more advanced session should be clear about the knowledge you need to bring.
Make room for follow-through
Set aside time after the workshop to repeat the exercise without the walkthrough. Save your questions and notes, and decide on one small change you can make to the project yourself.
